Coronal Mass Ejections (cme)
The year 2005 saw two of the largest sun spot outbreaks ever! Central America saw a the Llamatepec volcano erupt for the first time in 100 years, hurricane Stan killed more than 1,500 people, and a 5.8 earthquake hit the same area. All three were in the same week- Oct. 1-8. Were the CME’s and the three major catastrophe’s coincidental? Global warming got the blame for the three major catastrophies. I doubt it! There was also Katrina and Rita. Remember them?
The first clue that 2005 might have been a bad climatic year here on earth came from our Sun on day one. Just forty minutes into January 1st (GMT) the sun released a very powerful solar flare (X2). Solar flares are rated as either C-M-X (light-middle-powerful). Then on January 17th and X3 CME broke out. It came from a sun spot the size of Jupiter. Scientists were amazed that instead of taking the normal 2-3 days to reach earth, this CME made it to earth in 30 minutes! A major sun spot eruption!
Just to make sure we knew 2005 was going to be different, on September 7th, 2005, an X17 CME (the second largest ever recorded in history). It took out many shortwave CB and ham radio transmissions. And the point is? Sunspot 798 belched several more times before it quieted down on Sept. 13th. Is it coincidental that Katrina adn Rita were bookends to the second largest ever CME? Is it coincidental that the three major catastrophes in Central America were weeks later?
You judge!
The point is that in the Suns 11 year cycle 2005 was to be the quietest. The least amount of activity you say? Guess when the sun will reach it’s peak activity. Yep, 2012! Could what happened in 2005 be telling us something about 2012 as many fear? Or just coincidence again. How many coincidences can we have before we begin to see some syncronicities?
We have so many things to learn and just maybe ancient cultures like the Hopi and Mayans are our teachers- from the past.
