My mom used to have one S-38-E for many years,i born in 1969 and i remember that radio since i have memory.I remember my father and my grandfather conecting the TV antena to the radio so the can listen the fight in Africa Ali v/sForeman….what a memories….

I probably got this a little later than you . I got this at one of my first hamfests. I learned a lot of code on this. Boy was it nice to go from this to an IC-718.

Dave, thanks for the comment. This is my first shortwave radio too – it was a very generous gift from my parents. I learned to copy CW on this radio. 73 DE NG9D
